5 Best Fitness Spots in Colorado Springs

We already ranked our top breweries, as well as our top hikes in Colorado Springs. Now, as summer comes to an end, you might be looking for a place to get some indoor exercise and beat the cold while you try to hold on to your summer body for as long as you can. Here we rank our top 5 Fitness spots in Colorado Springs:

Triple Threat Gym

Coach Lev (Charles Leverette) is Triple Threat’s head coach and former heavyweight boxer in the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program. He was also an assistant coach for the 2012 Olympics boxing team that went to London. Now he works with amateur and professional fighters, army athletes and kids in his own, fully equipped warehouse-gym.

It’s not unusual to see big boxing names like Terence Crawford (undefeated unified junior welterweight champion) or Adrien Broner (former 4-weight-class world champion) in the gym training for a fight. You can also find UFC fighters putting work in, in the likes of Tecia Torres and local standout Raquel Pennington. Despite all the big names, the real essence of the gym is found in everyday classes and the way each student is selflessly committed to helping their peers learn and perfect their craft. All disciplines taught at Triple Threat are geared toward competitiveness, but pursued with a community vibe.

The gym offers Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, and Strength & Conditioning classes for men, women and kids all ages. Definitely worth trying out if you’re into martial arts, physical fitness, stress relief or if you want to learn some self-defense techniques.

Prices vary according to disciplines and/or frequency so drop by, check it out and sign up!

Accolade Fitness Center is just that: a fitness center. The appeal to this gym is frankly that it lacks a lot of the frills larger complexes boast. This is a gym for those people who are serious about their fitness. While they might not have hot tubs, and a pool side bar, they have free weight squat racks, incline-decline-flat benches, full TRX center, dumbbells ranging from 3-lbs all the way up to 180-lbs, and the largest selection of exercise machines in Colorado Springs.

So, if moving from the sauna to the hot tub to the spa is your idea of a workout, this is not going to be the place for you.

But if you want to surround yourself with serious lifters, and the resources to get into shape, then Accolade is your gym. Locally and independently owned and managed, Accolade offers two convenient locations for its members.

Oh, and did we mention its only $25/month.
